Aims and Scope<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The<em> <em>Journal of the Iranian Musicological Society<\/em><\/em>\u00a0publishes high-quality work on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>music in \/ of Iran;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>music and Iran in broader cultural, social, or historical perspectives;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>musical analysis;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>historical musicology;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>music education;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>interdisciplinary studies (music and politics, gender, nature\/environment, etc.);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>popular and vernacular\/traditional music.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Articles may be submitted in Persian or English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Article Types<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The journal accepts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Research Articles<\/strong>&nbsp;(primary scholarly studies)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Review Articles<\/strong>&nbsp;(state-of-the-field \/ thematic)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Book Reviews<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Media Reviews<\/strong>&nbsp;(albums, documentaries, digital platforms, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Occasional content at the editor\u2019s discretion<\/strong>: roundtables, interviews, forum essays, and conference presentations \u2014 especially suitable because the journal also publishes audio\/video online.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/journals\/iranian-studies\/information\/author-instructions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Originality<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Submissions must be original, not previously published, and not under review elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Peer Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All submissions are first screened by the editor. Eligible manuscripts are sent for&nbsp;<strong>double-blind peer review<\/strong>&nbsp;to at least two referees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Figures, Musical Examples, Audio\/Video<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Because the journal is published online first, authors may submit&nbsp;<strong>audio files, video files, or notated musical examples<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission for any copyrighted score, image, or audio that is not their own.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the annual print volume, only abstracts of audio- or video-based pieces will appear (the full media remains online).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9. Open Access and License<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The journal is Open Access and publishes under&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/4.0\/deed.en\">CC BY 4.0<\/a>.
